MEC website meeting
Content is organised in two main ways by audiences by related topics (as bbc website does) calendar gray Presentation Preamble This is NOT the finished product – but it has a direction and an operating concept, and there's some content. It has plenty of information already, but there is more to come, we're sure. Slide 1 It's aimed at four overlapping and interrelated audiences Residents Shoppers, Visitors Businesses For each audience there is: Information News Slide 2 The information part is relatively static, just updated through additions and deletions as we become aware of them. There is much which could be added.
The News is the dynamic part, where we add stories and events Here are some examples of 'Information' eg Residents: Your Local councillors Residents: Corona Virus information Shoppers – List of hairdressers Businesses – list and search Here are some examples of News, featuring Events (flick through Residents/Visitors/businesses) It also allows us to foreground MEC by publishing our agendas and minutes, AND by publishing stories we are making/supporting Show Big Lunch/Mass madison down the High Street MEC has its own admin section Show Constitution We are creating a virtual High Street, where you can scroll along, click on a building, and see both the current business AND a brief history. Show Stroll
The front page is dynamic – it automatically updates the stories as they are published, makes the latest one more prominent, and finds the most recent for each section and displays them at the top. It's modelled on the BBC site. It automatically gathers related items and when you look at one story, if there are others which connect to it, they will be listed on the right. It's easy to add information to, and anyway training is available. Here's an example of adding a story and picture. And here's the front page now So It's dynamic It works It's easy to add to It just needs a bit more content.
